MOPP Release Film is a high-strength mono-oriented polypropylene release liner specifically developed for adhesive tape manufacturing. Compared with traditional PE release films and conventional liners, MOPP film delivers significantly higher tensile strength in the machine direction (MD), lower elongation, better dimensional stability, and more reliable high-speed converting performance.
In adhesive tape production, liner stretching, wrinkling, unstable unwinding, and breakage during coating or slitting are common issues. MOPP release film solves these issues through its mono-oriented molecular structure, which creates concentrated longitudinal strength and excellent rigidity. Combined with UV-cured silicone coating technology, MOPP release liners provide stable release force, cleaner peeling, and improved processing efficiency for foam tape, acrylic tape, transfer tape, and industrial PSA applications.

In modern adhesive tape production, manufacturers increasingly face problems caused by insufficient liner strength and unstable converting performance.
Traditional PE release films are widely used because of their low cost and flexibility, but they often show significant limitations in demanding industrial tape applications.
Conventional PE liners tend to elongate under tension. During high-speed coating, laminating, rewinding, or die-cutting, the liner may stretch and deform, leading to inaccurate alignment and unstable product quality.
Industry analysis shows that stretched PE films generally have higher elongation and lower dimensional stability under continuous tension.
Traditional liners frequently experience wrinkling or curling during converting processes, especially under unstable tension or changing humidity conditions. These defects directly affect coating uniformity and slitting precision.
Many standard liners rely heavily on adhesive performance rather than film structural strength itself. Under heavy tension, the liner may tear, deform, or lose stability.
Traditional PE and ordinary PP films typically lack sufficient MD tensile strength for demanding industrial tape manufacturing environments.
Conventional liners may also suffer from inconsistent release values, silicone transfer, adhesive residue, and poor peeling behavior when exposed to aggressive adhesive systems or elevated temperatures.
Unlike ordinary PP or PE films, MOPP film is produced through a mono-orientation stretching process. During manufacturing, the polypropylene film is stretched only in the machine direction (MD), aligning the polymer chains in a highly ordered longitudinal structure.
This process fundamentally changes the mechanical properties of the film.
The result is:
Extremely high tensile strength in machine direction
Very low elongation
Outstanding dimensional stability
Strong resistance to stretching deformation
Improved tear resistance
Better tension control during converting
Industry references describe MOPP film as “extremely strong and almost indestructible” because of its concentrated longitudinal strength and minimal elongation behavior.

High MD tensile strength prevents liner elongation during coating and laminating. This improves coating accuracy and reduces material waste.
Low elongation means the film maintains dimensional stability during slitting and rewinding, helping reduce edge defects and misalignment.
MOPP release film supports stable high-speed converting operations without frequent liner breakage.
The rigid mono-oriented structure provides excellent support during die-cutting and label converting processes.
Stronger liners reduce tearing, wrinkling, and tension instability, helping improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
UPASS MOPP Release Film combines mono-oriented polypropylene technology with UV-cured silicone coating systems to achieve both mechanical performance and controlled release properties.
The silicone layer provides:
Stable release force
Clean peeling behavior
Low silicone transfer
Smooth unwinding
Excellent adhesive compatibility
Meanwhile, the MOPP base film provides the mechanical backbone required for demanding industrial tape production.
This combination is especially important for:
Acrylic foam tapes
Double-sided tapes
Transfer tapes
Automotive tapes
Electronic adhesive products
Industrial bonding tapes

The mono-oriented structure delivers concentrated strength along the machine direction, minimizing elongation during converting processes.
Unlike conventional PE liners, MOPP film remains stable under continuous tension and high-speed operation.
The film offers heat resistance up to approximately 130–150°C, suitable for industrial coating and adhesive processing applications.
Solvent-free UV silicone technology provides environmentally friendly processing with stable release performance and low silicone migration.
Uniform coating quality helps improve adhesive appearance and coating consistency.
Supports consistent peeling behavior for various PSA systems including acrylic, rubber, and hot melt adhesives.
Suitable for coating, laminating, slitting, rewinding, die-cutting, and automated tape manufacturing lines.

Provides stable release performance and high mechanical stability for automotive and industrial foam tapes.
Suitable for tissue tape, PET tape, PE foam tape, and transfer tape manufacturing.
Used in high-strength PSA tape systems requiring stable unwinding and precise converting.
Supports clean release and stable die-cutting for electronic component manufacturing.
The high MD tensile strength of MOPP film is particularly suitable for transportation fixing tapes and appliance protection tapes.
As tape production speeds continue increasing, traditional liners increasingly become the weak point in converting operations.
Manufacturers are now demanding release liners that can provide:
Higher line speed compatibility
Better tension stability
Reduced liner breakage
Improved coating precision
Better die-cutting performance
Lower defect rates
MOPP release film addresses these industry changes through its unique mono-oriented structure and high MD tensile strength.
For high-performance tape manufacturing, the liner is no longer just a carrier — it becomes a critical component affecting converting efficiency, product quality, and production stability.
Because the film is stretched only in the machine direction during production, the polymer chains become highly aligned longitudinally, creating concentrated directional strength.
For high-speed converting and industrial adhesive tape applications, MOPP film generally offers better dimensional stability, lower elongation, and higher tensile strength compared with standard PE liners.
Suitable for acrylic adhesives, rubber adhesives, hot melt adhesives, foam tape systems, and industrial PSA products.
